By taking a small wafer of this special graphite and placing it at the intersection of the magnetic field generated by four block magnets, an equilibrium is created that balances the properties of magnetism, diamagnetism, and gravity, creating a fascinating floating display. The graphite wafer will float almost 1mm above the surface of the magnets. Short of a gust of wind, or an earthquake, (or the family dog hitting the table) the PG will float indefinitely.
