We have a new, unique cork turkey magnets project that is easy, fun and festive to make. Our Felt and Cork Turkey Magnets are perfect for the entire family. If you need an activity leading up to Thanksgiving, or a Thanksgiving day craft post-feast, these magnets are a great option. Turkeys are the  face of Thanksgiving. Whether as the main course of your holiday meal, or your house is filled with turkey decor, chances are that turkeys play a big part in your Thanksgiving traditions. Each year, families and friends partake in creating endless turkey and Thanksgiving crafts, and this year will be no different with the help of your new cork turkey magnets!

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Assorted colors of felt. Green, brown, and red for the feathers and orange for the turkey beak.
  • Corks. This is a great project to use up any leftover corks you may have! Corks can also be found at any local craft store.
  • Googly eyes.
  • Scissors.
  • 4mm x 2mm disc magnets.
  • Hot glue gun.

How to Make Your Cork Turkey Magnets:

  1. Start by cutting the felt into various feather-like shapes. To simplify this step, you can also cut the felt into triangles or ovals. Make sure to have an assortment of colors for the feathers.
  2. Use scissors or a sharp knife to cut the cork. The cork makes the head of the turkey, so the thickness of the cork is up to you. You don’t need to cut the cork if you would rather have the entire cork as the head.
  3. Hot glue the googly eyes on the front of the cork. Let dry.
  4. Cut a triangle-shaped beak out of the orange felt. Hot glue the beak to the front of the cork. Let dry.
  5. Hot glue the felt feathers to the back of the cork, making sure the feathers are visible when looking at the turkey from the front. Let dry.
  6. Hot glue the magnet on the back of the cork. Let dry before sticking up on the fridge.
