Hanging up holidays lights for your home can be tedious, especially if you are using string, tape or some other laborious method to hang them. Instead, try using hook magnets for a one-step hanging solution. Simply attach a magnet to a ferrous part of your house, and hook the string lights up to it. Using hook magnets is a simple method to put lights up in your home, however, that doesn’t mean your light display has to be simple. Here are some creative ways to light up your home for the holidays with the help of magnets.

Create a canopy of lights.

When you enter your bedroom or relax on your bed you can be surrounded by holiday feelings with the right lighting. Hook string lights to the ceiling above your bed or even a sitting area in a room, and try putting a sheer sheet to cover and dim the lighting if it is too bright. You can also keep them up year round to serve as an extra lamp.

Use magnetic LED throwies to create a garage display.

You can incorporate your garage with some easy magnetic LED throwies━no strings attached. All you need for this magnet project is some small magnets, tape, and LED lights. Many large-scale and industrial artists use magnetic LED throwies to create bigger, outside works, because all they have to do is fling them at a magnetic canvas. You can have fun throwing these on to your garage or other ferrous part of your house while creating a holiday masterpiece at the same time!

Recycle jars and fill them with lights.

If you have some old jars or bottles lying around, repurpose them into cute light fixtures. Clean out the jars, fill them with LED lights and you have a set of unique party lights. If you are really in the holiday spirit, try painting the jars or using light colors like red, green or blue to create a neat effect. You can also make the jars magnetic to hang them up around your home. Be extremely careful when you do this and choose the appropriate magnet strength to hold the jars in place. For instance, your everyday low strength fridge magnets probably are not strong enough. Adhere a high powered magnet to the lids and you can hang them up on a magnetic beam or other sturdy fixture.
