Magnetic Mason Jar Craft: Thanksgiving Edition

Many families have their own practices in regards to giving thanks this time of year. Whether you take turns at the dinner table on Thanksgiving day, or write down what you’re thankful for for yourself, it’s great to take time to be grateful for the people, things, and experiences you have encountered this past year. Our Give Thanks mason jar craft is perfect to stick on your fridge.Family and friends can drop pieces of paper of what they are thankful for leading up to Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving, you can empty the jar and read everything your family is thankful for together. This simple craft is fun to create and serves a wonderful purpose of practicing being thankful.
Supplies You’ll Need:
- Small mason jars.
- 6mm x 3mm Disc Magnets.
- Chalkboard paint.
- Chalk.
- Hot glue gun.
- Optional: paint chips, cardstock, or regular paper.
- Optional: Modge podge, fake leaves of assorted colors.
Assemble Your Magnet Mason Jar Craft:
- Use the chalkboard paint to paint a rectangle on the front of the jar. Let dry completely.
- Use the chalk to write “Give Thanks” or your own phrase for Thanksgiving.
- Hot glue the magnet to the back of the mason jar. Let dry completely before sticking on the fridge.
- Use paint chips, cardstalk, or regular paper to handout to family members. This is the material they can write what they’re thankful for and drop in the mason jar throughout the month of November.
- If you’d like to decorate your jar for the season, use fake leaves and modge podge to create a leafy look on the outside of the mason jar.
