Over the years, you have probably accumulated several refrigerator magnets that are unwanted or no longer relevant. Magnets from businesses like doctors and pizza shops or the souvenirs and wedding invites from your friends are cluttering your precious fridge space. As you reevaluate what constitutes a refrigerator-worthy magnetic memory, consider repurposing your old magnets instead of throwing them away. Here are a five ways you can reuse unwanted magnets:

1. Organize

Magnets make great organizational tools for any environment. At the office, you can use them keep track of loose paper clips. And you can use them in your toolbox, to prevent lost nails and screws. They are also effective pin cushions for your sewing kit.

2. Pictures

You can give your ugly, old refrigerator magnets makeovers by gluing new pictures and photographs on them. If you need to you can cut the magnets down to the right size easily with scissors.

3. Magnetic Alphabet

You can create a DIY magnetic alphabet with your refrigerator magnets. One way to do this, is to cut out pictures of letters from old magazines and glue them to the refrigerator magnets. You can also cut the magnets into the shapes of letters and numbers. Either way, this is a fun craft that allows you to leave cute magnet notes on your fridge.

4. Business Cards

If you have a small business, you can glue your business card to an old refrigerator magnet. Then you can give it to customers so they always have your contact information readily available.

5. Gifts

Magnet DIYs make thoughtful gifts. You can repurpose your magnets using the second idea listed above and give them as presents. Magnetic photos fit into holiday cards perfectly. Or you can glue a nice picture onto the refrigerator magnet to make a bookmark for your book-lover friend. Whether you use one of our ideas or come up with an idea of your own, it’s better to repurpose refrigerator magnets than to throw them away where no one can benefit from them.
