DIY Holiday Card Tree
Sending holiday cards is a great tradition, and receiving them adds to the magic of the season. However, if you’re very popular, displaying all of these cards and photos can feel like an overwhelming task.
Many of us use plain old refrigerator magnets, but this can leave your fridge totally obscured and it’s easy for cards to get knocked off with those weak novelty magnets (not that we’re biased). Another option is to tape them on cabinets or doors, but this can lead to stripped paint or damage to the cards.
Luckily, our crack team of Apex DIYers came up with a solution! This solution allows you to display all of your holiday cards in a manner that’s easy, out of the way, and leaves your cards in perfect shape.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Artificial Christmas tree. This can be any size you’d like, depending on the amount of cards you want to display. We recommend one with bendable branches.
- Multiple ring magnets
- Just as many disc magnets.
- Your holiday cards, of course.
- Ornaments and lights (optional)
- Set up your Christmas tree wherever you’d like to display your cards. We think it looks great on side tables or on a wide-enough shelf!
- Take your ring magnets and thread them through the branches of the tree. You can do this as many times as you’d like in whatever arrangement.
- Take your holiday cards and place the back against the ring magnets.
- Hold your cards in place by affixing a disc magnet to the other side.
- Repeat until all of your cards are proudly displayed.
- Add ornaments, lights, or other festive touches if you so choose.
