Pins are fashionable accessories that you can wear with clothes, scarves, hats, and bags. They also make great souvenirs for travel, to promote a business, or to support a candidate or cause along the campaign trail. But instead of poking your clothes and accessories full of holes, you can use small magnets instead of metal pins. This simple craft will only take a few minutes and you don’t have to put holes in your clothes anymore!

Supplies

Directions

  1. First, carefully remove the metal pin from the back of the decorative pin you selected. You might need pliers or scissors to remove the metal pin. Be careful not to poke yourself with the sharp end and discard the metal pin appropriately.
  2. Next, use the craft glue to secure one of the small circular magnets to the back of the jewelry piece. Spread the glue evenly over one side of the magnet.
  3. Hold the magnet to the back of the pin in place until the glue dries. Once the glue has dried, your pin is ready to wear!
To wear your new magnet pin, just hold the magnet with the pin glued to it on one side of your shirt or scarf and hold the other magnet on the other side of the cloth. The two magnets will attract through the fabric and you won’t ruin your clothing with a hole. If you’re worried about the pin falling off while you wear it, buy strong permanent magnets. Circular magnets or disc magnets work best for this craft. And when you’re all done you’ll have safe, cute pin magnets to wear for any occasion.
