This is an easy DIY for a rainy afternoon. These steps will teach you how to make the fish and fishing poles. You don’t need many supplies and you can get as creative as you want!   Here’s what you’ll need:
  • Neodymium Ring Magnets
  • Aluminum foil
  • Mini Wiffle balls (golf ball-sized)
  • Miniature paper clips
  • String or twine
  • Long sticks from the yard (yardsticks work, too)
  • Googly eyes, foam or felt shapes, etc. (optional)
The Fish Step 1 Unbend half of a paper clip and loop it through two holes of the Wiffle ball. This will be the “hook.” Step 2 Take a piece of aluminum foil (6 in. long) and poke the other end of the paper clip through the center. Step 3 Wrap the Wiffle ball with the aluminum foil and twist the end into the fish’s tail--you can do this however you’d like, making whatever kind of fish tail. Step 4 Decorate your fish with googly eyes, felt, foam, markers, or whatever you’d like. Do this for however many fish you’d like to make. The Rod Step 1 Tie a good length of twine to the stick or yardstick. You might consider supergluing it so it doesn’t slide. Step 2 Tie your neodymium ring magnet to the other end. Step 3 Go fishin’! You can play a number of games with this simple DIY, you just have to be creative! Let us know what you come up with!
