Valentine’s Day is on the way, and if you have a significant other, that means you’re probably on the hook for a gift. You could go the traditional route with a box of chocolates, a nice watch, or some sparkly jewelry. That’s boring, though! You want your loved one to be impressed with your gift, not underwhelmed. Crafting something with your own two hands will mean so much more to your special someone and every time they see your creation, they’ll lovingly think of you. A magnetic puzzle photo is a few gifts in one. Not only will they have a lovely photo of the two of you, they’ll also have something to occupy their time as they stare into the fridge for the fourth time in 10 minutes looking for a snack. What you’ll need:
  1. A quality photo. Make sure it’s something sentimental to the two of you. You don’t want just any old photo up on the fridge. More importantly though, make sure you both look great in the photo. If you look nice but your partner has their eyes closed, you can bet you’ll be hearing about it for the rest of your life.
  2. Disc magnets. The puzzle needs to be able to hang somewhere prominent, right? Our disc magnets will do the trick.
  3. Cardstock. You want the paper you print the photo on to be sturdier than regular printer paper, so  it holds up against any possible humidity or sticky fingers in your kitchen.
  4. Puzzle overlay. You’ll need this to take your photo from regular to puzzle pieces.
  5. Hot glue. To hold it together! No really, you need hot glue to hold your puzzle pieces to the magnets.
How to put it all together:
  1. Print your chosen photo out on that high quality cardstock paper. It might even be a good idea to double up the cardstock to make it sturdier.
  2. Using your puzzle pattern, lightly trace it over your photo using a regular or white pencil, depending on the colors in your photo. Cut along that pattern as best  you can.
  3. Hot glue your puzzle pieces to some disc magnets. Let the glue sit to ensure it has cooled fully.
  4. Pop those babies onto the fridge and let your loved one piece them back together again.
Not only will this gift be a cute and crafty addition to your fridge decor, it will also be a heartfelt gift to your loved one this Valentine’s Day. Check out our blog for more magnet-related DIY gift ideas
