DIY Cute Bike Magnets
Biking is quickly becoming one of the most popular ways to travel. There are many health and sustainability benefits to cycling to work instead of driving or taking the bus. Not only does biking make your commute more enjoyable because you get to avoid traffic, but studies show that people who bike are actually happier overall. Whether it’s because commuting by bike lets people get more exercise or because it helps reduce their carbon footprints, it might be time for you to consider cycling to work. Of course, you may not want to start biking to work in the middle of winter, so you can show your appreciation for cycling in other ways like with this cute bike magnet:
- 2 Round buttons
- 2 Small disc magnets for crafts
- Paper clips or wire
- Super glue
- First, find two matching buttons. They don’t have to match in color, but they should match in size and shape. You want them to be round like bike wheels.
- Next, use the super glue to secure one disc magnet onto the back of each button. You can also use adhesive magnets if you want to skip the messy glue part.
- After the glue dries, twist the paperclip out of its regular shape. Use it to recreate the body and handles of a bicycle. You can thread the wire through the holes in the buttons to keep it place. Remember the buttons are supposed to be the bike tires, so shape the paper clip accordingly.
Once you’re done, you should have a cute bicycle magnet to post notes on your fridge and to inspire you to start cycling this spring!
