DIY Glass Stone Sports Ball Magnets
Spring is a welcomed time of the year, but it can also be one of the busiest. As the weather gets warmer, your kids finally get to go outside and play their favorite seasonal sports. The constant stream of games and practices can be a lot to handle, but now you can stay on top of things thanks to our useful sports-themed gem magnets. These simple crafts can help the entire family get in the spirit of the season.
Supplies
You can purchase your magnets by visiting our online store. All magnets necessary for this project are linked in the full supply list below. We even offer same-day shipping if your order is placed by 3 PM EST, allowing you to start your project promptly. All other supplies can be purchased at your favorite craft store.
You will need:
- Round and clear glass stones
- Tacky glue
- Disc magnet (4mmx3mm)
- Construction paper (The thickness prevents the darkness of the magnet from being visible through the paper).
- Scissors
- Markers
- Pencil
Steps
While this project can be done by children, we ask parents to stay in the room and use discretion. Consider handling the steps that require scissors and gluing the magnet yourself if you think your kids are too young.
Follow these steps to create your sports magnets:
- Trace the outline of your glass stone onto a piece of paper with a pencil.
- Draw the details of the sports ball inside the circle. Ex: red stitching for a baseball, a black soccer ball pattern, etc.
- Cut out your circle.
- Glue your paper to the flat side of your glass stone with the side you drew on facing up.
- Once dry, glue a magnet to the other side of your paper circle.
- After that has also dried, you can use your fun new magnet to hang up sports schedules and more on your fridge, in the office, etc!
