DIY Magnet Crafts For Independence Day
It’s almost the 4th of July! As you prepare for the holiday weekend, here are some helpful DIY magnet crafts you can use to make your life easier.
1. Magnetic Tablecloth Holders
While you set up for your outdoor picnic, you don’t want the tablecloths to blow away with all of the food. You can use magnets to act as a paperweight for your table cover. Depending on the size of the table you will need about eight really strong magnets. After laying out the tablecloth, use two magnets at each corner. Just place one magnet on top of the table and one underneath. If they are strong enough, they will attract through the table and hold the cloth in place.
2. Decorate with Magnets
If you’re celebrating the fourth of July under a tent or in a garage, you can use magnets to hold up your decorations. With small strong magnets, you can hold banners, flags, patriotic stars, and streamers in place. The magnets will attract to anything metal in your garage such as the garage door. In an outdoor tent, you can use the magnets to attach decorations to the metal poles of the tent. You can also make 4th of July themed glitter magnets with this tutorial.
3. Magnetic Tent Light
Camping is another great way to celebrate the holiday. If you’re planning a camping trip, you can make a ‘chandelier’ light for your tent using only magnets, string, glue, and a flashlight. All you have to do is glue one of the magnets to the string and the other to the bottom of the flashlight. Then, while inside the tent, tie the string to the poles at the top of the tent. Now, you have a removable light hanging inside your tent. You can turn on the flashlight and hold it up to the magnet attached to the string so it hangs above you.
These magnetic DIYs allow you to clean up quickly and easily. You won’t have to worry about losing nails, putting holes into your table, or accidentally gluing your decorations or your flashlight in place permanently.
