DIY Rudolph & Friends Reindeer Magnets
Christmas is just a month away, meaning now is the perfect time to get the entire family together to make some fun holiday-themed DIY crafts. The star of this week’s craft is everyone’s favorite reindeer: Rudolph! Your kids will be jumping for joy once they see the end result of this project, and guests will be equally impressed. Follow along to see how you can make this craft during your next family night.
Supplies
While you will likely have some supplies in your home, this project will likely call for a quick trip to the crafting store. Visit our online store to purchase the magnets you need. We even offer same-day shipping on all orders placed by 3 PM EST so you can start crafting faster.
You will need these supplies:
- Canning jar lids
- Disc magnets (5mm x 2mm)
- Light brown and dark brown felt
- Scissors
- Googly eyes
- Brown pipe cleaners
- Crafting glue
- Red ribbon
- Red pompom
Steps
This project can be completed by everyone in your family. As always, make sure there is adult supervision throughout the crafting process. Adults should also use discretion when allowing kids to use scissors. The steps below will explain how you can create magnets for Rudolph and his female counterpart, Clarice. Once you are done, consider making more reindeer to keep the fun going!
Follow these simple steps:
- Gather all materials.
- Cut a circular piece of dark brown felt and light brown felt. Both should be slightly larger than the jar lids.
- Glue the brow felt to one lid and the dark brown felt to another. The dark brown lid will be Rudolph and the light brown one will be Clarice.
- As that dries, cut a smaller circular piece, about the size of a quarter, of the dark brown felt. This will be Clarice’s nose.
- Place Clarice’s nose towards the bottom of the light brown felt. Similarly, put some glue on your red pompom and put it on Rudolph’s face.
- Grab four googly eyes and place two on each character. Let your crafts sit for a bit as they dry.
- Get four pipe cleaners and fold them in half. Fold your two sides up and then down once more to create your antlers. Twist the base of your antlers and then pinch the peaks at the top.
- Glue a red bow on the top of Clarice’s head near her antlers.
- Next, glue your antlers onto the other side of the lid, along with one disc magnet.
- Once dry, you can hang up these fun decorations for all to enjoy!
