Magnetic Beauty DIYs to Get You Organized for 2017
It’s the beginning of 2017, and you’ve found that your makeup and accessories collection has become somewhat of a mess. Luckily, we have found some easy and cheap DIY’s to help you start 2017 on track - and on trend!
Did you know that magnets are the key to basically all of your organizational dreams? Especially when it comes to your beauty supplies! Magnets are not just for standard DIY or “fixer upper” projects, you can use them to make your everyday life much easier and systematic.
Magnetic Makeup Board
For example, if you struggle to keep your makeup collection under control, and it costs you time during your morning routine, try making this Magnetic Makeup Board! You’ll never misplace your lipstick again! Supplies Needed:- One or more metal pans (any size - depending on how much makeup you would like to attach to the pan)
- Multiple 3mm x 1mm Disc - Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets
- 3M Double Sided Command Strips
- Hot glue gun
- Optional: Fabric and double sided tape
- Glue the magnets onto each makeup item, let dry completely.
- Use the command strips to stick the pans to the wall. Let the pans stay on the wall without the makeup for at least an hour, so the command strips can properly stick.
- Place the magnetic makeup onto the trays and voilà!
- Optional: For a more stylistic magnetic makeup board, stick fabric of your choice over the trays with double sided tape before putting the command strips on.
Magnetic Bobby Pin Plate
Another great DIY project for your beauty supplies is a Magnetic Bobby Pin Plate! Everyone knows the uphill battle of constantly buying bobby pins, but never be able to find any when you actually need them. Bobby pins are small and get scattered throughout the house, making it a never ending battle. Containers aren’t the best solution, because although they can keep the bobby pins in one place, they make it hard to get just one or two single pins out for use. Here is a great answer for your bobby pin mishaps! Supplies:- A small dish that isn’t completely flat (curves upwards, so the bobby pins don’t fall off). Also make sure the dish has a ridge on the bottom, so even when the magnets are glued on the bottom, it will still be balanced and sit flat.
- Multiple 3mm x 1mm Disc - Neodymium Rare Earth Magnets
- Bobby Pins
- Hot glue gun
- Glue the magnets (two or three depending on the size of your dish) onto the bottom of the dish. Let dry completely.
- Turn it over and place the bobby pins on the dish.
