There is no more denying it━autumn is officially here and if you’ve been procrastinating putting away your summer items and other gear there are a few tricks that you can use to make the task a little easier. You can use these tips and tricks to store away summer items, while making room to display your fall attire and other belongings.

Magnetic Tool Holder

If you are putting away that summer gardening gear, think about using a magnetic tool holder. This is also useful for non-gardening tools, but it is perfect for easy, space-saving storage. To create your own holder, here is a DIY from Lifehacker.

Hook Magnet Scarf Organizer

You really know that it is fall when the scarves come out. If you have a plethora of scarves and can’t seem to get them organized, try using a magnetic scarf organizer. You can create your own with a sheet of metal or a magnetic strip. Simply place the strip in your closet or bedroom and stick a few hook magnets to it. You can hang up your array of scarves and when you add new ones to your collection, you can easily move the hooks around to make more room.

Magnetic Door Hanger

You can even use your closet doors for storage and display space. Make the whole door magnetic with some layers of magnetic paint or hang up a magnetic board and use hook magnets to hold your clothing and other items. If using paint, you can hold non-clothing items like makeup and a mirror too.

Modular Closet

If you really want to take your organization and storage efforts further, try painting one or two walls of your closet with magnetic paint. Then, hang shelving made of ferrous, or magnetic materials using high powered magnets. By using magnets and shelves, you can customize and rearrange your closet space easily! Magnets can come in handy for your summer to fall home projects but remember to use the appropriate magnet strength and type though, especially for storing heavier items.
