Spice Up Your Life: DIY Magnetic Spice Rack
Like many homeowners, your collection of spices might not be the most organized part of the kitchen. We tend to buy spice after spice and end up with a monumental selection and no room to efficiently store them. However, this DIY project just might be the solution we’ve all be looking for! A magnetic spice rack can be customized to your liking as well as aesthetically pleasing!
What You’ll Need:
- Small tin container with clear lid. These containers come in round and square shapes, depending on your preference. They should be about 4 inches deep and have a clear cover, so you can easily see the spice.
- ¼” x 1/16” disc magnets.
- Hot glue gun.
- Label Maker. If you don’t have a label maker, you can use tape and a sharpie, or print out and tape labels.
- Spices.
- Separate the lids and containers. Wash all containers, so that the glue and magnets will settle together properly.
- Use three magnets per container. Turn the containers upside down, so the bottoms are facing up. Place three magnets on each container to form a triangle shape.
- Use the hot glue gun to glue each magnet in place. Let glue dry and cool completely.
- Create labels for each spice. Attach the labels onto the top side of the container (if you’re using round containers, stick the label on the side of the container that will be facing up).
- Fill each container with your spices. Make sure to fill the container with the correct spice you labeled!
- Close the lids onto the containers and stick onto your fridge!
