When you're busy and on-the-go, Alessi, an Italian-based luxury item merchant, produced magnetic sunglasses to keep the frames together. The utilization of magnets instead of screws has changed the way users maintain and repair expensive accessories and repairs. The sunglasses also mitigate the need for an expensive repair kit that would typically be used to fix loose hinges on basic eyewear.   The designer of the line,  Frédéric Gooris, used titanium and acetate to engineer his creation. He inserted strong magnets into the frames that snap the metallic pieces together. This allows consumers to easily flip open and close their shades. These magnetic frames, which feature the same type of attractive forces in cube magnets and block magnets, create a floating hinge that utilizes natural orientation fields. The sunglasses are also made of hypoallergenic and adjustable nose pads for comfort. In addition to eyewear, the company manufactures luxury kitchenware, electrical appliances, jewelry and coffee accouterments. Although not all of Allesi's products are magnetized, this innovation has demonstrated how strong magnets can be paired with modern convenience to simplify the lives of consumers.
