Collecting these beautiful keepsakes is something that children and adults both love doing while roaming their favorite beach. Supplies

Purchase your magnets by visiting our online store. All magnets necessary to complete this project are linked in the full supply list below. You will need:

 

  • Seashells
  • Crafting putty
  • Popsicle stick
  • Disc magnets (5/16” x ⅛”)
  • Plastic gloves
  • Vacation photos (optional)

Steps

This project is very simple and can be fun for all ages. Adult supervision is required, but older kids can likely complete this project on their own.

 

Follow these steps to enjoy your new magnets:

 

  1. Decide how many seashell magnets you would like to make.
  2. Put on gloves and morph your putty into balls that can fit inside the opening of your seashells. The putty should be filled up right to the edge so the magnet will stick out enough in future steps.
  3. Push the putty into your seashells. You can use a popsicle stick to get everything into place and smooth it out.
  4. Place your magnet into the putty and allow everything 24 hours (or whatever time is noted on the putty packaging) to harden and dry.
  5. Now your magnets are ready to go! Grab some family photos and use your seashell magnets to hang the photos up and keep the memories of your beach vacation alive for all to enjoy.
