Do you own one or two memento silverware pieces and want a unique way to display them? Maybe you purchased them at a garage sale or thrift shop, or you picked them at your local flea market. Here are two magnetic DIYs that are great ways to not only show off your souvenir silverware, but also add a vintage or classic look to your kitchen! These crafts are so beautiful, you’ll have your guests wondering where you bought the magnets. There are minimal steps and supplies for each craft, making it all the easier to create these timeless projects! Magnet Spoon What You’ll Need: Steps:
  1. First, polish the silver. Hand wash the silver with lukewarm water then make sure to dry it completely. Do not let the silverware air dry, as that can be damaging to the patina.
  2. Put a pea-sized glue drop on the back of the spoon. Stick the magnet on top of the glue and let dry completely.
  3. If you would like to add an extra special touch to your spoon magnet, hot glue clear or antique-looking crystals and beads to the stems of the silverware. This is where you can add your personal style. Let the beads and crystals dry before sticking the magnet onto the fridge.
DIY Silverware Clothespin Magnet What You’ll Need:
  • Souvenir or token spoons and/or forks.
  • Clothes pins.
  • Multiple small disc magnets.
  • Hot glue gun.
  • Sandpaper.
  • Metal-cutting shears or scissors.
Steps:
  1. Using scissors or shears that are able to cut metal, cut the bottom of the spoons and forks off the silverware. You’ll only need the stems for this DIY. You will want to measure the stem length to the length of the clothes pin.
  2. Sand down any rough edges at the end of the stem where you cut.
  3. Glue the spoon stem to the top of the clothespin, so that the stem covers the clothes completely. Let dry.
  4. On the back side of the clothespin, glue the magnet. Let try.
