Supplies 

Purchase your magnets by visiting our online store. All magnets necessary to complete this craft are linked in the full supply list below. Gather these supplies:

  • Mini picture frames (3”x3”)
  • Disc magnets (4mm x 1mm)
  • Old maps
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Craft Glue
  • Cardboard (From photo frame)

Steps

This simple project can be fun for your entire family. If you do have a child completing this project with you, please remember that adult supervision is always required when using magnets. 

 

Follow these steps:

  1. Gather all materials. Don’t be afraid to pick a few different picture frames for added fun. 
  2. Determine which cities or regions you would like to cut out of your map. Make your cutouts a little larger than the opening so you can glue the excess to the inside of the frame itself.
  3. Use a pencil to lightly draw a square outline on the locations you have chosen. Cut them out with your scissors.
  4. Place some glue on the back of your frames and push the cutouts into their respective spots. Be sure to hold them in place for a few seconds. Let them dry.
  5. Place the cardboard included with your frames in place. Follow the directions included with the frames to secure your map. 
  6. Glue your magnets to the back of your cardboard piece. Place one towards the top and one near the bottom. Allow everything to dry.
  7. Hang up your mini-map frames to remind yourself of your favorite trips!
